Evelina London Children’s Hospital, part of the Trust, is internationally renowned for clinical excellence and complex private patient referrals, with a Private Patient Unit turnover exceeding £10 million per annum and ambitious growth plans.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Evelina Private Patient & International Team as a Service Manager. The successful candidate will provide leadership and management to the Private Patients & International (PP&I) administration and international team, including two Deputy Service Managers reporting directly to this role. You will be responsible for refining and developing robust administrative systems to enhance stakeholder experience, delivering delegated service improvements, and ensuring capacity to meet key clinical performance targets.

Private patient activity within the Trust occurs across multiple sites including Guy’s Hospital, St Thomas’ Hospital, Royal Brompton’s Wimpole Street Facility, Evelina London Children’s Hospital, and Evelina London community facilities, with a combined turnover exceeding £12 million per annum. Key locations include the award-winning Evelina London Children’s Hospital, the Westminster Private Maternity Suite at St Thomas’ Hospital, and the internationally reputed Assisted Conception Unit at Guy’s Hospital.

The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders. You will support the senior management team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient services in line with agreed objectives, targets, and quality standards.

Requirements

Experience
- Proven track record in managing successful projects and/or operational performance improvements, including development and monitoring of outcome measures
- Operational experience managing specific services, including design, development, implementation, and change management in a multi-professional environment
- Experience managing complex budgets from multiple income sources with demonstrated individual, team, financial, process, and change management skills

- Excellent interpersonal, communication (written, oral, presentation, facilitation), networking, and negotiation skills
- Effective people and project management skills, including motivating and coaching staff

Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience
- Evidence of recent continuing professional development
- IT literate, with competency in MS Office programs, especially Excel

Additional Requirements
- Knowledge of operations and/or project management methodologies and techniques
- Ability to analyse and apply complex statistical and numerical data
- Ability to manage data and report performance metrics clearly, highlighting trends
- Ability to carry out the physical requirements of the post with reasonable adjustments if needed
