About the Role
Salesforce is seeking Forward Deployed Engineers — experienced Technical Builders who design, build, and deploy agentic AI solutions directly inside enterprise customer environments. You will work as part of a delivery team, partnering closely with a Deployment Strategist to co-build solutions that go live in production environments from day one. Engagements range from a single large strategic customer to multiple accounts simultaneously, with a focus on real code, real environments, and measurable business impact. This role involves configuration, customization, and full-stack deployment of solutions customers depend on.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will ship real customer solutions supported by AI tools such as Cursor, Claude, and Salesforce coding products like Vibes. You will collaborate with Senior Forward Deployed Engineers and Deployment Strategists, owning technical components end-to-end and benefiting from structured mentorship. You will work on cutting-edge agentic AI platform capabilities, continuously innovate by experimenting with emerging AI tools and frameworks, and share insights with your team and customers.

Your work will include developing AI agents that take real actions for real organizations, designing agent intelligence using prompts, reasoning, tool calls, and integration with customer systems. You will build and integrate data pipelines on platforms like Salesforce Data 360, Snowflake, and Databricks, maintain agent performance dashboards, contribute to proofs-of-concept and MVPs, and co-build alongside customers and partners. You will also provide valuable feedback to product teams and partner with Deployment Strategists to translate business challenges into deployable AI solutions.

This role requires approximately 25% travel to work directly alongside customers.

Experience
- Minimum 3 years of software engineering or technical delivery experience, with at least one production system you can confidently present
- Prior customer-facing technical delivery experience (consulting, professional services, or forward deployed engineering) is required
- Hands-on experience with LLMs and prompt engineering
- Fluent in at least one of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Apex
- Experience with data modeling, APIs, and integration patterns
- Comfortable collaborating with sales teams and customer architects
- Proven ability to ship quality code and evaluate AI outputs rigorously
- Active engagement with evolving AI and data technologies
- Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time

Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Salesforce platform experience or certifications (Administrator, Platform Developer I, Agentforce Specialist) are a plus
- Familiarity with agent frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex and orchestration patterns is advantageous
- Experience with cloud data platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery is desirable
- Background in specialist AI delivery areas such as data engineering, platform architecture, or headless deployments is beneficial
