About the Role
Housing Advisors work on the frontline of the London housing crisis. You will be part of a team taking applications from those in housing need and determining what assistance the Authority can provide. Homelessness arises from private sector evictions, overcrowded families, and domestic abuse. This role can be challenging but also highly rewarding, offering the opportunity to positively impact the lives of hundreds of residents across Newham. It is an excellent position for those seeking a career in housing, with clear opportunities for progression. The work is interesting, difficult, fulfilling, and never boring.

Homelessness in London is a significant issue, with more than 6,500 households approaching the London Borough of Newham last year. Following the successful implementation of the Trainee Programme, this role is open to experienced Housing Advisors without a permanent position, as training will not be provided due to the Trainee Programme being at capacity.

We offer flexible working arrangements, including the possibility of working from home up to three days per week.

- Producing high-quality written communications to a corporate standard.

About you
You are an experienced Housing Advisor with a strong commitment to supporting vulnerable people. You are able to work effectively in a busy environment, demonstrating resilience and professionalism.
