About the Role
Join the London Borough of Newham as a Practice Development Social Worker within the Children & Young People Service, Social Care Academy. This permanent role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of social work practice in Newham by supporting newly qualified social workers (NQSWs) and strengthening workforce retention and practice excellence.

In this role, you will coach and support NQSWs and Social Workers to become confident, reflective practitioners guided by the Newham circles of support practice model. You will lead the delivery of a local coaching model, using your own high-quality practice to embed systemic, relational, and restorative approaches across the workforce.

You will drive innovation in learning and development, contributing to the wider training offer, retention strategy, and service improvement agenda. As a role model, you will demonstrate excellent practice in direct work with children and families, including relationship-based practice, timely risk assessment, and evidence-informed intervention.
