About the Role
Stripe's mission is to increase the GDP of the internet by building powerful and flexible tools for running internet businesses globally. Our International Indirect Tax Advisory team plays a key role in supporting Stripe's expansion by managing indirect tax planning, compliance, and audits across multiple jurisdictions. As an Indirect Tax Advisory Consultant, you will serve as a subject matter expert on global VAT/GST, advising business and finance teams on taxability of new products, new market entries, and product launches. You will collaborate cross-functionally with finance, product, engineering, and compliance teams to design tax solutions, enhance compliance processes, and manage relationships with tax authorities worldwide. This role requires clear communication of complex indirect tax concepts to non-tax professionals and driving tax awareness across the organization through training and updates on legislation, systems, and policies. Reporting to the International Indirect Tax Advisory Lead, this position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment with a close-knit team of tax professionals dedicated to solving Stripe's tax challenges.

Experience
4–6 years of relevant indirect tax experience with strong knowledge of VAT/GST laws and regulations. Previous in-house experience within a multinational business combined with legal or accountancy firm experience. Experience with indirect taxes related to digital services and physical product distribution. Accounting experience and proficiency with ERP systems and data analytics tools. Project management experience with a detail-oriented approach and ownership of complex work.

Comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced, informal, and often ambiguous environment. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and a professional qualification in tax or law (e.g. CTA, ACA, AITI, ATT, or equivalent). Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree (e.g. LLM in Tax, MSc in Accounting), experience in technology, payments, or financial services, and experience in a high-growth or rapidly scaling environment.
