About the Role
Hackney Council is seeking experienced LGV Drivers to support our waste services, including street cleansing, waste transfer station, gully cleaning, winter gritting, and refuse and recycling teams. This role is crucial in making Hackney cleaner, safer, and greener for everyone. You will be responsible for driving a variety of Category C vehicles, including specialist vehicles such as roll-on, skips, and mechanical brooms. Your day-to-day tasks will include inspecting your vehicle, maintaining driver records, and ensuring work is carried out securely and safely. You will also be required to use digital devices to record work and communicate effectively with team members and the public.

Experience
Experience in delivering waste and cleaning services is essential. You should be able to demonstrate safe driving and operating techniques, as well as experience in carrying out and recording routine checks on vehicles and equipment.

You should take pride in your work, possess an excellent approach to customer service, and enjoy liaising with members of the public. A willingness to learn new skills and suggest improvements is highly valued.

Qualifications
You must hold a full UK driving licence with no more than three penalty points, valid for relevant vehicles. A driver tachograph and CPC card are essential for this role.
