About the Role

The Clinical Genetics service at Guy’s and St Thomas’ is a leading centre for genetic medicine, supporting people with inherited conditions through expert diagnosis, genetic counselling and advanced testing.
We are seeking a highly organised, detail-driven and motivated Patient Pathway Coordinator (PPC) to join our team. In this role, you will ensure patients move smoothly through their care journey by managing waiting lists, coordinating referrals and appointments, and ensuring essential clinical information is available when needed. Your work will support timely, safe and compassionate care while meeting national standards.
You will collaborate closely with consultants, genetic counsellors, nurses, scientists and managers, and liaise with patients, GPs and other hospitals to maintain clear communication and efficient information flow. Additionally, you will help improve processes, maintain accurate data for reporting and audits, and support departmental projects. This role suits someone confident with IT systems who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment and enjoys problem-solving.
Experience
- Significant proven experience delivering high standards in a fast-paced, high volume customer care environment
- Ability to deal with a range of issues independently and efficiently
- Proven administrative experience
- Experience within the NHS administration is desirable
About you
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of multi-disciplinary staff
- Ability to work with confidential data and handle sensitive issues discreetly
- Strong organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines
- A ‘can do’ attitude with a flexible approach to work and ability to cope with changing demands
- Ability to prepare written and data reports using various software packages and present information clearly
- Knowledge of medical terminology is desirable
Qualifications
- Good general education with English and Maths to GCSE standard or equivalent
- Educated to diploma level or NVQ 3, or equivalent
- Evidence of further training
- Customer service and IT package qualifications or training are desirable
