About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the inpatient scheduling team at Harefield Hospital. The successful candidate will be a vital part of the administrative team responsible for scheduling cardiac surgery and cardiology patients on elective pathways, as well as other elective and non-elective procedures. The scheduling department arranges over 7,000 procedures annually, coordinating complex arrangements with patients and departments to ensure full utilisation of hospital facilities.
The Patient Pathway Coordinator will lead on tracking and scheduling patient pathways in Cardiac Surgery and Cardiology. Working closely with clinical and managerial staff, the post holder will provide high-standard administrative support to ensure patients receive timely treatment and national targets are met. The role involves supporting the cardiac surgery service operationally and assisting with process improvements to enhance service efficiency.
Harefield Hospital is a 170-bedded tertiary cardio-thoracic and transplantation centre providing inpatient, outpatient, and diagnostic services for heart and lung conditions. It features a busy heart attack centre with four state-of-the-art cath labs and offers acute aortic dissection services alongside Royal Brompton Hospital. Harefield is one of only five cardiothoracic transplantation centres in the UK and manages a busy mechanical support service including long-term devices in the community.
Experience
Essential: Demonstrable ability to understand the scheduling process.
