The Patient Pathway Validator will be part of the central administration and data quality team, which ensures all patient referrals are identified and acted upon consistently to provide responsive, high-quality care. This role involves tracking and validating patient pathways to ensure data accuracy relating to patient pathway management, including RTT (Referral to Treatment) for both admitted and non-admitted elective care.
The post holder will use patient administration systems (notably Epic) to collect, interpret and validate data from multiple sources, liaising with directorate teams and external organisations to maintain accurate records. They will alert management to any data recording or performance issues to prevent delays in patient care and act as a key contact for admissions and outpatient booking teams, supporting continuous improvement in data recording processes.
This role may also require working within services to assist in tracking and managing long-waiting patients on the PTL (Patient Tracking List).

Experience
- Proven administrative experience within the NHS
- Understanding of RTT and related policies
- Ability to deal independently and efficiently with a range of issues

- Strong organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise own workload
- Proactive and able to use initiative supported by local guidance and policies
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams and external organisations
- Knowledge of medical terminology is desirable
Qualifications
- Good general education including English and Maths to GCSE standard or equivalent (essential)
- IT training or qualification, e.g. Microsoft Office (desirable)
- Evidence of further formal training or experience in hospital administration (desirable)
