About the Role

As a Principal Data and AI Architect, you will be a senior, hands-on technical leader and trusted advisor responsible for designing, validating, and operationalizing enterprise-grade data and AI architectures centered on Salesforce Data Cloud (D360) and the Agentforce platform. This role bridges data engineering, platform architecture, and applied AI, guiding Chief Data Officers and Enterprise Architects through emerging AI solutions.

You will collaborate closely with Account Executives and Product teams to design scalable, secure solutions integrating D360 into complex enterprise ecosystems, including hyperscalers, data lakes, and governance frameworks. Your expertise will shape best practices around generative AI, agent interoperability, prompt engineering, and cross-platform integrations.

Key responsibilities include leading pre-sales technical design, building prototypes and demos, developing thought leadership content, acting as a central technical knowledge resource, and supporting early adoption and proof-of-value engagements. You will oversee technical architecture decisions such as data modeling, identity resolution, and activation strategies within D360, while creating accessible technical documentation to empower teams across the organization.

Experience
- 7+ years of hands-on experience designing and delivering data, analytics, and AI architectures in enterprise environments.
- Proven track record in prompt engineering, agent lifecycle management, and prototype development.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce Agentforce, Data Cloud (D360), and core Salesforce platform services.
- Strong understanding of external agent ecosystems and interoperability.
- Expertise in modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, and Redshift.
- Proficiency in programming languages including JavaScript, Python, SQL, and R.
- Experience with machine learning concepts including predictive and generative AI.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent technical field.
- Preferred: Experience integrating Salesforce with external agents via APIs and open standards (MCP, A2A).
- Familiarity with prompt governance, observability, and monitoring frameworks.
- Background in cross-platform integrations and multimodal pipelines.
- Exposure to advanced AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and cloud AI platforms like Google Vertex AI or AWS Sagemaker.
- Knowledge of MLOps practices is advantageous.
