This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive and efficient administrative and secretarial support to the Safeguarding Adults Team. You will play a vital role in supporting the safeguarding of vulnerable adults, including patients detained under the Mental Health Act (MHA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS). The post involves liaising with multidisciplinary teams, internal departments, and external agencies to ensure continuity and excellence in patient care.
Key responsibilities include organising and managing team administration such as post handling, correspondence, stationery ordering, meeting coordination with minute-taking, and maintaining accurate records of leave and sickness. You will also handle a variety of telephone communications professionally, provide non-clinical information, and coordinate meeting papers and agendas to highlight action points.

Experience
- Proven previous experience as a medical secretary or medical administrator
- Experience working independently and as part of a team
- Experience working within the NHS environment
About you
- Excellent organisational and time management skills including diary management
- Ability to handle patient data confidentially and sensitively at all times
- Confident and professional communication skills, able to manage telephone calls with patients, relatives, and health professionals
- Good computer literacy including Microsoft Office and hospital information systems such as Patient Information Management System (PIMS) and Care Notes
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and manage competing priorities
Qualifications
- Educated to A level standard with GCSE Mathematics and English (or equivalent)
- RSA Stage III or equivalent experience
- AMSPAR or equivalent experience
Desirable
- Experience working in a busy environment
- Some knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
- Working knowledge of safeguarding adults
