About the Role
We are recruiting Senior Data Architects to join the Justice Digital, Data and Science team within the Ministry of Justice. This is a national role based within the newly established Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO), which leads the Ministry’s technology strategy and delivery across prisons, agencies, probation services, and the MoJ corporate centre.
As a Senior Data Architect, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the Ministry’s data architecture from concept to implementation. You will translate the vision and standards set by Principal and Chief Data Architects into practical, scalable, and reusable data models, metadata systems, and data dictionaries aligned with organisational needs.
You will lead the design and delivery of data architectures for major programmes, provide expert guidance to other data architects, and collaborate closely with technical architects, engineers, analysts, and policy colleagues to ensure data is managed securely and interoperably. You will also mentor other architects and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
This role requires passing Security Check clearance and offers excellent benefits including a generous pension contribution, flexible working arrangements, personal development time, and a £1,000 learning budget.
If you are passionate about data architecture and want to contribute to transformative justice system projects, this is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and forward-thinking team.
