About the Role
You will advise the international business on day-to-day digital and technology matters, delivering the highest standards of legal advice and regulatory compliance whilst supporting the business with its international growth. Your remit covers legal support to the global digital and technology teams encompassing product, engineering, data science, performance marketing and transformational outsourcing. You will negotiate and draft a wide range of commercial contracts relating to outsourcing, licensing, hosting, digital marketing, software development and other third-party engagements. Additionally, you will advise on AI scoping, implementation, guardrails and training. You will assist other areas of the business and legal team on a broad range of legal matters as required and support the development and enhancement of effective working processes to ensure business objectives are achieved within appropriate timescales and with relevant stakeholder approval.
As a Senior Legal Counsel you will:
- Advise on legal affairs relating to digital and technology, including AI, with supervision from the Senior Legal Counsel – Global Procurement
- Support the business with day-to-day legal queries, identifying legal risks and providing commercially sound advice
- Supervise junior team members
- Assist with the development and implementation of legal procedures and policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws
- Draft, negotiate and review contracts, legal documents and other regulatory or contractual requirements
- Support the business with legal proceedings, working with outside counsel when required
- Prepare and conduct legal training for staff

Experience
- Qualified solicitor – England and Wales
- Strong commercial skill set with knowledge of commercial law and the digital, technology, IT legal space
- Solid training and qualifications from a leading national or international law firm or reputable business
- In-house experience is highly desirable
- Experience working for a global brand and advising on multi-jurisdictional issues is highly desirable

Qualifications
- Qualified solicitor in England and Wales
- Relevant commercial law and digital/technology legal expertise
- Training from a reputable law firm or business
- In-house and global brand experience preferred but not essential
