The Senior Patient Pathway Validator will lead the validation and tracking of elective patient pathways to ensure patient records are accurate, complete and compliant with national RTT guidance, Trust policies and local access standards. Using expert knowledge of patient pathway management and Epic, the post holder will investigate, validate and resolve complex pathway issues, supporting the Trust in achieving elective performance targets and reducing delays to patient care.

This role involves providing specialist advice to operational teams, supporting continuous service improvement and assisting in the development of junior members of the validation team. The post holder will work collaboratively across clinical and operational teams to improve data quality, reduce patient risk and support delivery of national waiting time standards.

Requirements

Experience
- Significant experience delivering to high standards in a fast-paced, high volume administrative and clerical outpatient service environment
- In-depth knowledge of patient pathway management including national RTT waiting times
- Proven track record supporting service improvements that benefit patients
- Desirable: experience supervising and developing staff
- Desirable: experience delivering services across multiple sites

- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to manage difficult service users and challenging situations professionally
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data collection, presentation, report writing and handling data quality issues
- Ability to prepare clear reports using various software packages
- Discreet handling of confidential data and sensitive issues
- Ability to follow complex protocols and escalate issues appropriately
- Excellent organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines
- Flexible, positive attitude with the ability to adapt to changing demands
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and patient administration systems such as Epic
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise own workload and that of junior staff
- Desirable: knowledge of medical terminology
- Desirable: understanding of peer review and governance processes
- Desirable: experience analysing complex patient data

Qualifications
- Good general education with English and Maths to GCSE standard or equivalent
- Educated to diploma level or NVQ 3, City and Guilds certificate level in business administration or equivalent
- Track record of significant continuous professional and management development
- Desirable: customer service qualification/training
- Desirable: IT package qualification/training such as European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
