About the Role
As a Solutions Architect at AWS, you will build trusted technical relationships with Small-to-Medium Business (SMB) customers across the UK and Ireland. You will act as a trusted advisor, helping customers maximize the value of the cloud throughout their journey. Your role involves managing the overall technical relationship, making recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency to accelerate their projects. You will creatively link technology to tangible solutions and have the opportunity to define or invent cloud-native reference architectures for diverse use cases. You will also contribute to the creation and sharing of best practices, technical content, and new reference architectures such as whitepapers, code samples, and blog posts. Evangelizing and educating customers through workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos, or conferences will be a key part of your role. This position is part of the EMEA SMB organization, working closely with SMB customers in UKI.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate as a key member of the sales team to ensure success in building and migrating applications, software, and services on AWS
- Develop and execute sales strategies to exceed revenue goals through AWS adoption
- Own the overall technical relationship with customers and provide recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency
- Educate customers of all sizes on AWS value propositions and engage in deep architectural discussions to ensure successful cloud deployments
- Conduct training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS
- Capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS Solutions Architect community

Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or relevant professional or military experience
- Experience in IT development, implementation, or consulting within software or Internet industries
- Expertise in technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data & analytics
- Experience designing, implementing, or consulting on applications and infrastructures
- Proven ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive stakeholders

Qualifications
- Preferred experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking
- Familiarity with AWS services, market segments, customer base, and industry verticals
- Experience engaging with end user or developer communities
