About the Role
AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring continuous access to innovative cloud services. As a Colocation (Colo) Regional Engineer, you will lead Mechanical and Electrical Engineering services, construction, and implementation of enterprise data centers globally. You will collaborate closely with Design Engineering Stakeholders, Construction, Operations, and Commissioning teams to deliver data center projects that meet evolving customer needs and maintain AWS’s hyper-scale expansion.

In this role, you will act as the engineering representative for the Data Center Field Engineering Team, supporting site selection, planning, and development. You will evaluate mechanical and electrical systems, make data-driven decisions, and ensure designs meet AWS standards. Your responsibilities include reviewing designs with colo vendors, supporting construction and commissioning, troubleshooting site and equipment failures, and providing technical support for data center upgrades to improve capacity, availability, and efficiency.

You will work on multiple concurrent projects across various regions, lead engineering site audits, and produce risk reports with recommended mitigations. Requirements

Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Experience in industrial or commercial engineering within mission-critical facilities such as data centers, power generation, or oil and gas
- Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities
- Experience in commissioning
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Qualifications
- Professional Engineer License (preferred)
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations relevant to your region (preferred)
- Experience taking design concepts from exploration through development to deployment or mass production (preferred)
- Ability to read, interpret, and create construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents (preferred)
