Salary
From £41,092 per annum depending on skills and experience. In addition, a flexible benefits fund of 15% is paid on top of the base salary and is fully pensionable, alongside a range of competitive benefits.
About the Role
As a Stakeholder Manager at HS2, you will be responsible for delivering stakeholder engagement activity and managing key stakeholder relationships across Land and Property. You will work collaboratively with internal teams across HS2 as well as external organisations including the Department for Transport, Land and Property’s supply chain, and community stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include actively promoting and embedding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, supporting organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI. You will deliver stakeholder engagement activities in line with agreed ways of working, maintaining effective relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders and partners.
You will manage responses to stakeholder enquiries and complaints, ensuring timely, accurate and consistent handling. You will deliver stakeholder engagement and management plans aligned with agreed priorities and approaches, monitor and analyse engagement activity to identify trends, risks and issues, and produce stakeholder materials such as briefings and information packs to enable effective engagement.
All stakeholder engagement activity and outputs must be delivered in line with agreed standards, approaches and stakeholder positioning. You will be expected to uphold HS2’s values of Safety, Leadership, Integrity and Respect at all times.
Experience
- Delivering stakeholder engagement activity in complex or multi-stakeholder environments
- Managing stakeholder relationships and handling enquiries and complaints
- Producing clear, structured written outputs for a range of audiences, including briefings, reports or correspondence
- Analysing information or data to identify trends, issues or insights and inform decision-making or activity
- Working in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and delivering to tight deadlines
- Supporting delivery of work within defined processes, frameworks or governance structures
About You
- Strong influencing and listening skills with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, able to communicate complex information clearly to different audiences
- Ability to develop relationships and build trust amongst stakeholders and communities, exercising diplomacy and sound judgement
- Ability to manage competing stakeholder priorities and deliver outputs to agreed deadlines
- Analytical skills to interpret and analyse stakeholder data, identify trends and emerging issues, and use insight to inform responses and engagement activity
- Ability to support delivery of a high-quality ‘Claimant experience’ through effective stakeholder engagement
- Ability to manage agreed deadlines in a dynamic, fast-moving environment and operate within established processes and ways of working
Knowledge
- Understanding of stakeholder engagement principles and approaches, particularly within complex or sensitive environments
- Understanding of how to manage stakeholder relationships across a range of internal and external groups
- Ability to interpret and communicate technical, policy or operational information to non-specialist audiences
- Awareness of working within regulated, public sector or infrastructure environments, including managing reputational risk
