About the Role
Hackney Council, one of the UK's most diverse and highest-performing local authorities, is seeking a Strategic HR and Organisational Development (OD) Business Partner to lead and shape the future of our workforce through the Workforce Transformation Programme. This is an 18-month fixed term contract or secondment opportunity at grade PO8.

In this high-impact role, you will partner with senior leaders to drive significant workforce change, acting as a Change Ambassador who challenges conventional thinking and influences service design and operating models. You will use people analytics to provide robust evidence supporting leadership decision-making and contribute to the continuous development of HR and OD provision and corporate planning.

Your key responsibilities will include strategic partnership with local leaders, leading workforce transformation initiatives including restructures and business re-engineering, providing professional leadership on HR-wide strategic projects, and delivering data-driven insights through workforce dashboards to inform people plans and performance against key HR metrics.

Requirements

Experience
Significant experience advising all levels of management on HR and/or OD disciplines, including handling complex employee relations cases. Proven ability to build strong partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders, including effective collaboration with Trade Unions.

A highly credible and influential HR professional with the ability to inspire, motivate, and influence senior leaders. Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and legislation and develop creative, workable solutions. Able to work quickly and accurately, prioritising conflicting deadlines and adapting to changing circumstances. A role model for good management practices who thrives in a dynamic and diverse environment.

Qualifications
Master’s degree, MCIPD, or equivalent experience is desirable. Excellent working knowledge of employment legislation, statutory guidance, and risk identification related to employee relations and organisational development.
