About the Role
The Judicial College is seeking an Executive Officer to lead the Planning and Operational Support Team (POpS) based at the Royal Courts of Justice, London. This role involves managing a team of event organisers who provide administrative support for magistrate training delivered through digital, face-to-face, and blended learning methods. You will be responsible for overseeing the organisation and smooth running of approximately 2000 judicial seminars annually, supporting the Lady Chief Justice and Senior President of Tribunals in delivering high-quality judicial training within an evolving justice system.
As Team Leader, you will line manage up to 8 Administrative Officers, handling people management issues including performance, attendance, and conduct. You will establish and monitor plans for administrative support of jurisdictional training programmes, ensuring accurate record-keeping of attendees to assist with budget management. You will also support senior managers in continuous improvement projects, including the design and embedding of new administrative procedures.
Key responsibilities include managing the College’s online Judicial College Learning site for your training area, booking venues, communicating with delegates, providing event support, and taking minutes at meetings when required. This is a high-profile role within a unique branch of the Civil Service dedicated to supporting judicial independence and maintaining confidence in the rule of law.
