About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS trusts, providing a wide range of hospital and community services across south London and beyond. The Trust is renowned for clinical excellence, research, and education, with specialist centres including a £160 million Cancer Centre and Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Lung Cancer Screening (LCS) programme in South East London as a Tobacco Dependence Treatment Specialist. This role is based within the Lambeth Stop Smoking Service but works across all six boroughs in the region. You will support respiratory colleagues on a mobile screening unit, delivering specialist tobacco dependence treatment to current smokers at risk of lung cancer.

This is a new and innovative role, requiring you to develop and test different models of delivering tobacco dependence treatment in this unique setting. You will work independently, managing onsite clinics, training staff in very brief advice (VBA), and ensuring high-quality, tailored support including vaping and nicotine replacement therapy. Strong IT skills are essential as you will use multiple clinical systems for patient care recording and reporting.

You will be an active member of the multidisciplinary LCS team, responsible for integrating tobacco dependence treatment into the programme, managing caseloads, and contributing to service development and evaluation. The role involves collaboration with local stop smoking services and the Trust’s Tobacco Dependence Treatment Team to ensure seamless care pathways and optimal patient support.

The Trust values a caring, ambitious, and inclusive culture, putting patients first and striving for excellence through innovation and collaboration.
