About the Role
We are looking for a Back of House Manager to join our team of superstars at The Hoxton Shepherd's Bush. Our fourth London Hoxton is located in the heart of Shepherd’s Bush, a vibrant and diverse neighbourhood, featuring 237 playfully designed bedrooms and an all-day restaurant, Chet’s, serving Thai American comfort food. The hotel boasts a large open lobby with vintage seating and cosy corners, a central wraparound bar, and a terrace, making it perfectly located for exploring West London.
As Back of House Manager, you will be responsible for health and safety in the loading bay and back of house (BOH) areas including staff areas. You will maintain a clean and food-safe working environment in the loading bay and oversee COSHH training and certification for all food and beverage (F&B) areas. You will assist with BOH audits on health and safety and oversee all goods receiving, working closely with finance on related paperwork and systems.
Your duties will include ordering all required chemicals and storing them according to legal and company guidelines, managing the ordering of all F&B products for outlets and the staff canteen, liaising with chefs to ensure accuracy. You will ensure all F&B products are received and stored correctly within the hotel. Maintaining company guidelines for refuse storage and removal and liaising with contractors will also be part of your role.
You will liaise with the maintenance team and contractors regarding the upkeep of BOH areas, be responsible for the safe opening and closing of designated culinary areas, and oversee the general maintenance of all culinary areas, equipment, and fixtures, fittings, and furnishings (F&F’s).
Experience
Experience using stock and goods receiving systems is required. Experience with kitchen equipment and recommended cleaning methods is essential. COSHH certification or experience as a COSHH trainer is desirable but not essential.
