As Head of Marketing – Digital and ATL Marketing in the Licence Fee Unit, you will play a key role in devising strategies that drive revenue across a wide range of marketing platforms. The Licence Fee Unit (LFU) is the key funding source for the BBC. It is a small, highly collaborative and nurturing team working to an outsourced model, partnering with a large full-service agency, a best-in-breed media buyer, and smaller specialist agencies. The LFU encourages enterprise working across the BBC and constantly looks to innovate to drive revenue and cut costs. This role offers many opportunities for professional growth.
Your Key Responsibilities and Impact:
- Oversee the management of key digital and ATL marketing contracts including media planning and buying, content creation, influencer campaigns, and TV and radio creative production in collaboration with the Commercial team.
- Represent the Acquisition Working Group and Media Planning Group when setting strategic direction and building the Marketing Plan alongside the Senior Head of Marketing and other Heads of Marketing.
- Work closely with the Head of Marketing – Direct Marketing to ensure delivery of the marketing plan.
- Set benchmarks for success, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimum ROI from activities across both Direct and Digital marketing.
- Be accountable for the output of the LFU marketing team on the Acquisition Working Group and Media Planning Group, from campaign briefs to creative execution.
- Ensure final campaign performance is clearly understood, identify drivers of success or failure, apply key learnings to future campaigns, and foster a culture of continual learning.
Experience
- Significant experience in Digital and ATL brand and marketing including display, SEO, social, influencer, TV and radio campaigns using both owned and paid media.
- Experience managing commercial relationships and significant budgets, likely gained in a large organisation with regulatory oversight.
- Proven ability to manage critical stakeholder relationships, build rapport, and create effective working relationships.
- Experience of enterprise working and collaboration with teams inside and outside an organisation.
- Strong interpersonal skills, self-reliance, resilience, and proactivity.
- Ability to manage self and others within a complex matrix environment with shared responsibilities across the BBC.
- Skilled in planning and attention to detail as well as strategic and creative success at a senior level.
