About the Role
The Savoy, one of the world’s most iconic British luxury hotels, is seeking an In-Room Dining Coordinator to join our Food & Beverage team. Opened in 1889, The Savoy blends rich history with innovation and is renowned for outstanding service excellence. As an In-Room Dining Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating all service requirements addressed to the Room Service department. Your primary duties will include taking guest orders via telephone or verbally, processing these orders accurately and promptly using the POS terminal, and communicating effectively with supervisors, butlers, and chefs regarding orders and special requests.
You will liaise with various departments using Micros and RMS apps for room clearance, room changes, status checks, and amenity delivery. Additional responsibilities include printing daily reports, updating VIP lists, assisting with administration tasks, and supporting the In-Room Dining Manager in achieving high guest satisfaction scores.
Your role will involve answering and prioritizing telephone calls, handling guest requests courteously and efficiently, and maintaining thorough knowledge of in-room dining menus, ongoing promotions, and other F&B outlets. You will provide recommendations, ensure prompt and courteous service, communicate clearly with the kitchen regarding orders and wait times, and manage POS postings accurately including allergen and dietary requirements.
Coordinating IRD waitstaff and butlers, reporting guest feedback, handling queries and complaints professionally, upselling menu items, ensuring proper shift handovers, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the IRD office are also key aspects of this role. You will be expected to maintain a professional appearance and perform any other reasonable duties as assigned.

Experience
2 to 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a 5-star hotel is desirable but not essential.
About you
You should have the ability to communicate effectively with guests and anticipate their needs, demonstrating excellent telephone etiquette and a positive, enthusiastic personality. The ability to remain calm and diffuse difficult situations naturally is important. A profound knowledge of customer service and food and beverage products is required. Flexibility and willingness to multi-skill are essential to meet the needs of guests and colleagues.
Qualifications
Hotel Management diploma or similar qualification is desirable but not mandatory.
