About the Role
The Linen Porter is responsible for controlling linen stocks within the Linen Room and distributing linen to various departments throughout the hotel. You will support Linen and Uniform Porters and ensure the upkeep of all storage areas. Key duties include managing laundered items, assisting with linen deliveries, issuing and dispatching staff uniforms, and maintaining smooth linen delivery and collection processes. You will work closely with Laundry, guest work contractors, and equipment suppliers, deputize during the Laundry Manager’s absence, and act as an ambassador of The Raffles London at The OWO during interactions with guests and colleagues.
Additional responsibilities include ensuring floors are well stocked with linen for efficient room turnaround, clearing dirty linen, delivering bedding to room attendants, stocking pantries with good time management, maintaining linen and laundry equipment, and ensuring safe maneuvering of trollies. You will communicate with Room Attendants and the Laundry Manager regarding linen issues, assist with billing for guest laundry work, and support the staff uniform supply process.
The role requires prioritizing daily tasks, assisting with stock takes, maintaining clean and efficient stores and floors, and adhering to the highest hotel and departmental standards. Professionalism, politeness, respect for guest privacy, and attention to detail within set timeframes are essential. You may also be required to perform duties in other departments or restaurants as assigned.
Leadership duties include updating work assignments in Knowcross, reporting defects and RFID equipment issues, monitoring linen rotation using RFID tags, attending training sessions, and assisting with RFID and laundry equipment training.
Health and Safety responsibilities involve reporting and rectifying hazards, being conversant with fire, emergency and bomb procedures, ensuring the safety of guests and employees, and promoting health and safety awareness within the department.
Experience
Recent experience within luxury wellness or a similar role is essential.
