About the Role
Join the London Borough of Newham as a Media Relations Manager and help tell the story of one of the most exciting, best-connected, and diverse boroughs in London. Newham is rapidly growing and shaping the future, delivering new council homes and welcoming major institutions such as UCL, London College of Fashion, V&A East, and the soon-to-arrive Smithfield and Billingsgate Markets at the Royal Docks. In this newly restructured Communications team, you will play a pivotal role in protecting, building, and enhancing Newham Council’s reputation. You will provide strategic communications advice to senior leaders, manage proactive and reactive media relations, and be the key contact for handling complex, high-profile issues. This is a fast-paced and challenging role in a borough that never stands still, requiring outstanding communication skills, excellent judgment under pressure, and a calm, professional approach when it matters most. Experience
Proven experience in media relations and strategic communications, ideally within a fast-paced and high-profile environment.
