About the Role
The Mercure & Ibis London Earls Court hotel is a newly renovated property in Southwest London, comprising 508 rooms across two distinct Accor brands: Mercure (282 rooms) and Ibis (226 rooms). The hotel features the versatile London Suite ballroom, divisible into nine meeting rooms and capable of hosting events for up to 1,200 guests. The F&B outlets, created by PARIS SOCIETY, include Barnaby’s, ideal for social events with spaces such as Barnaby’s Kitchen and Barnaby’s Lounge Bar available for private hire or additional event space.

As Sales Executive – Social Events & MICE, you will proactively develop new business opportunities across social events, private events, Barnaby's activations, MICE, agencies, associations, residential meetings, and event-led opportunities. Your focus will be on generating new revenue by securing new business, developing existing accounts, and promoting Barnaby's as a premier destination for private hire, networking events, celebrations, brand activations, and social gatherings.

Working closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing, Senior Sales Manager, Corporate & Strategic Accounts Manager, and Sales Development & Marketing Executive, you will maximise revenue opportunities across all hotel departments. You will also support sales administration, ensuring all sales activity, account information, and reporting are maintained to the highest standard.

Key responsibilities include presenting a professional and guest-centric image of the hotel, establishing positive relationships with guests and colleagues, and contributing to guest satisfaction by providing high-quality personalised service. You will assist with resolving guest feedback and enquiries efficiently and maintain thorough knowledge of the hotel’s facilities, Barnaby's offerings, events, and the local area to actively promote them.

In sales and business development, you will identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities across social events, Barnaby's activations, private events, MICE, agencies, associations, residential meetings, and event-led opportunities. You will generate new enquiries, develop Barnaby's as a destination for private hire and social gatherings, and maximise accommodation and incremental revenue across Food & Beverage and MICE.

You will manage an agreed portfolio of accounts, build strong relationships with agencies, DMCs, associations, event planners, and local businesses, and target key market sectors such as healthcare, pharmaceutical, automotive, energy, experiential events, brand activations, and association business. Supporting local partnerships, seasonal campaigns, and B2B outreach to promote Barnaby's will also be part of your role.

Account management and sales administration duties include working closely with corporate accounts to identify and convert opportunities, collaborating on marketing campaigns and promotional materials, conducting client appointments and site inspections, attending familiarisation trips and networking events, producing accurate sales reports, maintaining CRM systems, conducting market research, and supporting the Accor Sales Network to achieve overall sales objectives.

You will attend weekly and monthly sales meetings and undertake domestic and international sales trips as required, carrying out any other reasonable duties as requested by senior management.
