About the Role
The Mercure & Ibis London Earls Court hotel is a newly renovated property in Southwest London, comprising 508 rooms across two brands: 282 Mercure rooms and 226 Ibis rooms. The hotel features The London Suite, a versatile ballroom divisible into nine meeting rooms, capable of hosting events up to 1,200 guests. The F&B outlets, created by PARIS SOCIETY, include Barnaby’s Kitchen and Barnaby’s Lounge Bar, ideal for social events and private functions.
As a Sales & Marketing Coordinator, you will present a professional, friendly, and efficient impression of the hotel at all times. You will build strong relationships with guests, clients, and colleagues, ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction by liaising with operational departments to deliver personalized services. You will work closely with Heads of Department to service and handle event clients, anticipate guest needs, and promote hotel facilities, services, and events.
Your responsibilities include conducting market research, proposing new promotions and packaging to increase revenue, promptly responding to guest inquiries, and resolving any complaints while keeping management informed. You will perform day-to-day sales activities such as lead generation, account management, contracting, rate negotiation, site inspections, trade show attendance, and client entertainment.
You will also support the Head of Departments, Revenue Manager, and events operations team, manage Opera and Delphi.fdc systems to maintain accurate booking records, organize and deliver in-house events, and coordinate with the Head Chef on menu and package creation. Ensuring the operations team has the necessary client information via BEOs is also part of your role.
As part of the Accor team, you will take pride in delivering excellent service, supervise new starter programs, contribute to departmental targets, adhere to uniform and presentation standards, attend training courses, and comply with hotel policies including health, safety, hygiene, and environmental commitments. You will participate in departmental meetings, report hazards immediately, and assist in developing strategies to enhance hotel performance.
Additional duties include undertaking Duty Management shifts as required and maintaining flexibility with your rota to cover shifts during weekends and Bank Holidays.
Experience
Previous experience in sales, marketing, or event coordination within the hospitality industry is desirable but not explicitly stated. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively with various departments is essential.
