Location
Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC), a short walk from Ladbroke Grove (Circle and Hammersmith) station. Please note the service does not have step-free access.

Hours
22.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a rota between 09:00 - 17:00 and 13:00 - 21:00. You may be required to work bank holidays, evenings, and additional hours outside the core pattern (Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday) to meet service and resident needs.

About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Mentor to join our team supporting residents with multiple and complex needs including mental health, substance use, homelessness, and offending backgrounds. You will provide person-centred support to help residents overcome personal barriers and achieve their goals within a residential setting, creating a safe and comfortable home environment.

Key responsibilities include:
- Creating tailored support plans through one-to-one sessions, group sessions, and multi-agency meetings
- Supporting residents to achieve their desired goals and outcomes
- Empowering residents to make decisions and take control of their lives by fostering an enabling environment
- Facilitating engaging activities such as movie nights, arts and crafts, brunch club, and fully funded day trips to support healing and independence
- Monitoring residents’ wellbeing through regular welfare checks and responding to incidents or emergencies
- Collaborating closely with the team to ensure excellent service delivery, including supporting caseloads and other tasks as needed
- Keeping support plans updated on online portals
- Recognising signs of deteriorating mental or physical health and initiating appropriate interventions to prevent crisis or risks

Requirements

Experience
Experience working with people from complex backgrounds and/or a good understanding of the sector, particularly relating to multiple and complex needs.

- Adaptable and flexible approach to meet diverse support needs
- Empathy and compassion for residents facing various challenges
- Intermediate IT skills, including Microsoft Office and other software
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet service and resident needs
- Ability to promote the service and provide outreach, working effectively with stakeholders
- Understanding of social marginalisation and the diverse needs of people with complex challenges
